Food truck is a dynamic element in cities. Such mobility element consists of a food vending station and a driver's space. For people who own a food truck, the experience of it doesn't just lay on the mobile cooking but also the enjoyment of the road trip itself. However, how would it be if there's no need for a driver and more automation can be applied to a food truck?

The YATAI-E envisions a future of a food truck journey powered by the autonomous vehicle. Yatai means a street food cart in Japanese. By having automation on as many facilities as possible, the vendors in YAITAI-E can simply enjoy the ride and the food vending without putting too much effort into the long-distancing mobility.

The modular kitchen appliances adopt ways of cooking from different street food cultures by replacing the modules within the kitchen space.

Due to the modularization, the setup of the vending counter can be placed on either left or right side with the kitchen facility being placed on the opposite side in order to adopt left- and right-hand driving regions.

Dock. Undock.

In a crowded place like at a street food theme park or on the urban street, the capsule can be detached from the kitchen to park somewhere else.

Or the other way around: leaving the kitchen parked to have a lightweight road trip.

Plenty of spaces are reserved for placing vendor’s identity or offer information

The food truck has always been a charming symbol in our urban life. The YATAI-E concept looks forward to carrying on this culture into the autonomous generation or even inspiring more mobile possibilities in this era.
